A poem

Once upon a time, the books I treasured were like the loves of my life; I breathed them in and tried to keep them close to me. I tried.

But like the seasons, things change with each turn of a page and although they are perhaps still treasured — they are never quite the same again. There are many books/people I wish I could revisit and somehow read/experience again for the first time.

I am an intricate love story laid bare between the pages of an unmade book. I am the stranger, the hero or the villain in somebody else’s story. A tale full of the unexpected. A tale full of butterflies and rainbows, rejection and misadventure. A tale best read in silence beneath starlight, just once, in a different place — upon a different time.

A poem

The world will always be a noisy place full of powerfully quiet things.
I am a quiet woman in awe of many quiet things.
Books. The moon. Solitude.
The poignancy of being in communion with thousands of people holding a minutes silence.
The way a life can slip peacefully into death with one last quiet breath.

A poem

Here we come out of our Universe;
specs of dust as wild as the moon the stars the sun,
bursts of light not quite yet become
body, blood and bones.
Breath. Water. Love.
Beyond the Earth; below and above.
Flowing like rivers of hymns —
lyrics so sacred, compositions so unique,
tethered souls so bitter and so sweet.
Even in silence we are a melody.
No matter the meaning we keep humming along —
because life is like a song.

A Poem

I have a thousand stories racing around inside
some of them will breathe, some will never see the light

The untold stories are the heaviest weight
the shared stories have been liberated by grace

The measure of a life are the stories we are
the joy and the rage, the love and the scars

We live and we die inside the chaos and the calm
we are the perfect storm and the moon is our balm

I am a lighthouse. I am a galaxy.
I have a thousand stories inside of me.
