we moon dance through the night
Black breaths — so political
brown skin — so poetical
ancestors whispers are our souls drumbeat
if they shoot us down
we’ll die on our feet

we are 54 countries building global legacies
this lifetime — we’ll be united nations border free
with nothing but blood and love in between
we are evergreen
the grass is no greener on the other side
don’t believe the hype
the truth is hidden amongst the lies
in plain sight
keep your mind right

we’re gifted the Sun
we breeze through the trees
survived on held breaths for so long
we water the Seas
we are Black waves
don’t tell me we are not giants
spirits wrapped in flesh and bones
holy worldwide movements in human form

walk beside me
let the heat of the stars — light the soles of our feet
let’s spend lonely nights together
we don’t fade away
