And the choir said Amen! Oh, the resonating occurring through reading this… is off the charts! I’m a single mother of two boisterous boys (aged ten and six), and I find it deeply frustrating the enormous expectations placed on my shoulders by society and their father tbh. Whilst at the same time, the minimal expectation placed on him and the apparent praise and worship I’m supposedly meant to heap onto him when he does stuff I do daily without said praise and worship. I too, call BS on that. I think people need to stop judging single fathers in alignment with the crappy barely there dads, so basically the fact that they are present or ‘babysit’ their own children — is seen as incredible and worthy of sainthood. When the truth is, you are a parent as much as the mother — the responsibilities of raising children should fall equally on both parents. Thank you for being honest. I also wrote about a public tantrum meltdown, (Notes and misadventures in adulthood Chapter one:learning how to parent one baby step at a time — I wish I knew how to link it here but I’m technologically challenged) where I too was looked at like a kidnapper. Lmao. Thank you for sharing 🌻

Hey there I'm D. Writer/Poet/Mother - I know a little Tai Chi, but my Kung Fu is weak - beautifully flawed
