the morning welcomes me
breathes sunlight through my hair
like the breeze rustling the leaves of a mango tree
blue, cloudless skies ricocheting island vibes — soul nourishing
roots, heavenly etched with ancestral dreams
whisper louder and louder instilling peace in me
like the Ocean waves that kiss the shore — soaking my brown skinned feet, this is my centre, where the world and I meet
equilibrium, casting out a history of heartless inequity
grace my palms with a love only my eyes can see
I storm with all emotions, reflection on the water — I give her everything
soul pieces drip from my skin — I breathe and repeat
the morning welcomes me
colours me golden — paints me curious, in red — Black and green
