Hey Sam, for me this really speaks to the deliberate religious miseducation/propaganda that was used to justify slavery then and prop up white supremacist beliefs now. Like the NRA leans on the 2nd Amendment to continue to justify no requirement to evolve thinking, and act accordingly — cognitive dissonance again and again. Sadly, I think large portions of certain generations need to die out, so we can start to get to work with the new generation from birth onwards and hopefully they teach some of the old dogs some new tricks.
