Hey there Sam, my short answer…it’s when they start asking specific questions. My boys (10&6) are like pretty much every kid, they are sponges soaking this all encompassing life up all the time… I take their lead on stuff like this, when they start asking, it’s an indicator that they are ready to explore the topic somewhat…and it’s my job to try to give them age appropriate information about it… as well as encourage critical thinking. I don’t teach them that people are heterosexual or homosexual, etc… I just try to teach them about people and how people relate to each other… I am guided by my own moral compass to implore them to remain curious and respectful as they navigate life. But for the record, they both know that people have romantic relationships that are heterosexual, homosexual, etc… tbh — I can’t remember when those conversations happened… but they have anyway.

Live your life Sam, the kids will be alright 🌻
