Member-only story
Every time you fall in love, do you allow yourself to dream about what forever might feel like?
I do, I fill my head full of endless adventures that are yet to come true, like excerpts of stories — I may never get to tell.
After hours and hours, gazing in wonder at the sky, wondering what’s out there in the space between and beyond the stars. I fall asleep at night. I find myself falling skywards, as weightless as an empty cloud, higher and higher, until I’m up close and witnessing the greatest love story ever unfold — as the night bursts into millions of stars.
The stars are serenading the night with the same stupid love songs that we’re all so sick and tired of, yet keep humming along to anyway.
And in those moments, hanging onto the edge of infinity, the Universe speaks to me in tongues and says ‘this is immortality.’
Instantly — I burst into millions of tiny stars that look like fine rain — falling back down to Earth just before the dawn breaks again.
I’m awake, left with a memory of a love that lives forever filling my head, like an excerpt of a book — I’ll get to write one day.
