Let it rain

they say a storm is on its way
I feel the clouds and the weight of their grey
but, I can’t help but smile through them right now
like a lone star shining in the Eastern corner of the day
unafraid of the impending rain
perhaps I’ll transform into a waterfall
pouring down an Ocean of emotions
tempting out the bitter and the sweet
in hues of blue wave after blue wave racing through these veins
I am always just a touch away
from memories that play nostalgic tricks in a chattering brain
after the storm may be the beginnings of a happy day
I’ll be catching my breath as I’m captured by grace
wooed into submission by an encore of technicolour light beams
so, I say it’s quite okay
send in the storm — let it rain
