Masterpiece (Eighth Wonder)

Poetry

The Universe makes no mistakes,
a masterpiece making master strokes.
You’re not just Justin-T made from love,
you should know the whole truth — because it belongs to you

It took every spec of stardust,
every intricate piece of the Universe
and its humble beginnings
from a space before time held any place in anyone’s mind,
to guide you my way — eight years ago today

Now, I put your hand inside mine
and remember how it felt to hold every piece of you inside,
like cradling a sunrise,
breaking the dawn with shards of light
creating peace between the World and you and I

A little dreamer
building a different world from sandcastles that reach beyond the sky,
an Earth angel letting me come fly with you through your imagination adventuring the galaxies within your eyes,
as you blaze paths across the night
leaving trails of Lego pieces — so imperfectly precise
