before we become just another grim tale of woe, determined to make hope and progress our foes

breathe with me, feel with me, we don’t have to do this alone,
let’s pour our hearts out on the page, spilled dreaming of better days

there’s more to this life than just despair, we can live beyond suffocating atmospheres — if we’re curious about where we go from here

remember, we’re more than just space dust, no matter who shows up against us

tonight it’s okay if we’re staying alive for the weekend, drowning in waves — getting drunk again

now we’re numb to yesterday, forget the games we used to play, stupid is as stupid does — when you’re caught up like fools in love

but still, we can do anything, if we just stop and keep listening, there’s wisdom heard in silence, in our bones there’s more than just violence

we’re bouquets of balloons without the strings, from our fears — we’re untethering

we face the world again from dusk til dawn, blowing kisses to the moon and sun

breathe with me, feel with me, we don’t have to do this alone,
let’s pour our hearts out on the page, spilled dreaming of better days
