Member-only story
we spoke in forgotten tongues
of love and light
of beautiful — terrible things
we chopped life with herbs and spice
we confessed to our misgivings
we exhaled our woes with distilled sighs
unpicked the wars from between our teeth
like songbirds — we stretched notes from our throats and sang of liberty through the smoke and mirrors
we reflected on our misadventures and pastimes paradise
we laughed together and of course — we cried
just me — my shadow and I
I poured my heart into my hands
re-imagined myself west of the Sun
along the shores of ancestral homelands
with warm sand and pebbles between my toes and under my feet
I dipped myself into the Sea
letting the waves wash vengeance from my plan’s
I told myself to let go — let go
become an Air-Balloon now
‘let go of the shit that’s weighing you down’
I drank in the water and breathed in the night
whispering dawn into my skin —
as I welcomed the light
