Stupid Love Song

Alone in quiet places conversation flowed like water — we began as friends, we laughed until the sun set and the stars came out — but that’s not where our story ends

morning came with pools of light inside our eyes we broke the dawn just like a dream come true, but the dream cannot live on and so I wrote this stupid song to say I’m leaving you

I can see I’ve tied your tongue don’t understand where we went wrong — it happened way before, your heart is in your mouth your guts in knots — you’ve never begged someone to stay before

I tried and tried each day and night to find the ways to show that I’m in love with you, but every time I tried you just dismissed the truth as lies — now I can’t be with you,
it seems so cold you’re in my bed I know you see such red and oh you feel so blue
but the dream cannot live on and so I wrote this stupid song to say I’m leaving you

it seems so cold you’re in my bed I know you see such red and oh you feel so blue
but the dream cannot live on and so I wrote this stupid song to say I’m leaving you
I’m leaving you
I’m leaving you
I’m leaving you
I’m leaving you

Authors note: Thanks loads for reading/singing along to my stuff. Did you guess the classic song? Let me know what you think in the comments.
