This is super interesting , and i’m super aware of the whole ‘travelling whilst Black’ thing…always something I give alot of consideration to particularly if i’m looking to travel with my two kiddies (they’re nine and six year old boys). I have had a massive fascination with going to Singapore and it’s on my list of possible places to emigrate to one day…but ‘this’ issue is likely to be the deciding factor. I’m an Afro/Brit, born and bred in London…and I hesitate about living outside of London within the UK because of the racial demographics. London is the most multicultural city in the UK (but not free of rascism), as I say, I have young impressionable children who happen to be Black…I don’t like the idea of them being the ‘only ones’ in the village and therefore singled out or made to feel like some kind of anomaly. Once they are older, this will be less concerning as they will have had the chance and the maturity to know themselves that much more- and adapt in different environments. *shrugs shoulders*
