As far as I’m concerned, it’s highly suspicious behaviour — when any person of any race throws their own ethnicity/race overboard and claims the identity of their partners as authentically theirs.( I’m having flashbacks of Rachel Dolezal) I usually have a side eye waiting for them to say some BS like they ‘don’t see colour’ next. As you say, it is way too extra … there really is no need to abandon your race/ethnicity identity to prove love for someone from another. Thanks for another great write up.
