Poetry: An Ode to True Romance

the Sun sinks, disappearing beneath the Ocean,
not a cloud in sight,
just two stars — held up by the wonder of the night,
so cool and honest,
in awe of our Universe,
surrounded by dizzy planets —
just spinning by

the night sets the scene for romance,
painting a crescent Moon into a corner of the sky,
light bounces off the twinkles in our eyes,
with nothing to lose — but the weight of both our heartaches,
remembering our stardust —
we gather our pieces and make an exchange,
grabbing a fistful of last chances — we ride the Milky-way

we choose love,
we choose love — and start to heal us

two stars, two stars becoming brighter
two stars, two stars becoming brighter with love

it’s love,
it’s true — 
it’s love

with one too many dark days —
following long and lonely nights,
hearts can break,
imploding inside chests — with no escape,
