Well, another brills examination of the case and the context. I feel more empathy towards Jussie more than anything else, even though I still (despite the arrest and so called ‘facts’) don’t understand exactly what this was all about. Also, I do think it is still entirely possible, that the coming days and weeks — will reveal even more stranger truth, poor, nonsensical decisions perhaps — but that he was being honest afterall. I don’t believe it tells us anything about Black people, but of course there are plenty of folks that will push that agenda to further excuse the global subjugation and oppression of Black people as subhuman. It’s a messy matter, but if he did lie — context should definitely be applied, it’s a case of personal character, one Black man perhaps trying to play a system that plays him, not a cultural monolith.
