Word-scape/Language
I sit with myself, I look deeper and deeper into the empty space of a blank page and wonder
I run away with the idea of adventure, the wisdom waiting for discovery in these unwritten paper Oceans
I see my reflection in the words that I spill — when I pull on my heartstrings and let it be, the language of a secret poetry tucked under my tongue sets itself free and wraps its evergreen vine roots all around me, painting pictures of moonlit forests or Arabian deserts under a star filled sky
Write it down. Create worlds. Spill a lifetime of stories.
real life heroes and sheroes wearing no capes, struggling to be seen in plain sight, whilst villains with absolute power but no heart to speak of — seem to reside everyday under the spotlight, I see blood, sweat and tears and victory and heavy loads and blows mixed with the audacity of hope
Renaissance.
Water.
Life.
No happily ever after. But, perhaps — just what it was always meant to be, a series of epic twisted fairy-tales mixed with the sweetest fantasies
Storm.
The story goes — once upon a time in life…
I was falling to pieces — yet still breathing
failing beautifully once again
Equilibrium.
I stand at the edge of chaos, listening to conversations taking place in my mind, searching through racing thoughts for answers I’m yet to find
longing for peace to come a little closer, I spill ink to bear witness to the power of affirmation, let the alchemy manifest
Amani.
I let myself drift, like endless rivers rolling deeper into the wild Sea, nothingness is something, a kind of Poetry, silence is the sound that surrounds me.
If I let it flow — I will always return to me.
I am the Sea.
I lay here, beneath these waves and all the commotion — wondering if I can rise, chapter after chapter, with each turn of a page, can I ride these emotions as the hard times try to pull me down?
yesterday, my eyes were full of night
today, they are pools of blinding light
changes in me — unfolding like seasons
though there is no time, there’s still a time for everything
Earth.
revolving as we keep evolving around the Sun.
if I skip to the end, I wonder — will thunder become the sound of my heart breaking?
Mapenzi.
Authors note: I’m trying/hoping to learn a new language, an African language. I’ve settled on Kiswahili, Amani means peace and Mapenzi means love — and I figured they were good places to start. Thanks loads for reading.
