You know what, admittedly… I had to read this a couple of times to fully grasp your stance (it was around 2am when I first read it, so somewhat sleepy in my defence). This is an important distinction that you highlight here between having a level of awareness of ‘Black history’ and ‘Blackness’. Being aware of ‘Everyday’ peoples stories like yours and mine, is definitely the way forward to advance race relations and better appreciate ‘Black history’ and ‘Blackness’… in my humble opinion.
